As the privacy options has been tightened by google on orkut, many of the users have made their profiles private by making their scrapbook, photos, videos etc private and viewed by friends only.

Four Common Errors in Greasmonkey Installation
Friends Now that you have started using Orkut serious for fun, you must have installed Firefox and Greasemonkey till Now, if you have not you can download firefox and google tools from the top rated downloads above (they are must download for everyone who wants to enjoy orkut and want to use many hacks, tricks available here)
Alright since you have started using Greasemonkey some of you might have faced some errors but did not know how to handle them. Well some of the common errors that you might have faced or may be faced in future are:
Error: Error Installing User Script
What is the problem: GM script has corrupted your Addon
How to Rectify it: Create a new Profile in Firefox and then again starting everything from the scratch
How to Create a New Profile in Firefox:
Follow this Simple Procedure:
1. Right Click My computer and Open System Properties now go to advanced tab, Click on Environment Variable, In System Variable Click New. Type this information to each Text Box.
2. variable name: moz_no_remote (must be all small letter)
3. variable value: 1
4. Press Ok Button
5.Now Open firefox shortcut’s properties either from desktop or quick launch. Add extension -p to command line (like “c:\program files\mozilla firefox\firefox.exe” -p). Press Ok Button
6. Create a new profile for firefox
7. Now Start Firefox, You can use this method for multiple orkut logins also if you want use different firefox profile for different id.
2. Error: This is a Greasemonkey user Script. Click Install to start using it.
What does it mean: even clicking on the install button doesn’t install the script
How to rectify it:
1. Check the Greasemonkey Addon Page on the Mozilla Firefox site. Chance are that you will get your answer there.
2. If you cant find a solution there, instead install this tested and tried version of GM.
3. Error: Windows Script Host
What does it mean: This error occurs when you have double clicked saved userscript version on computer hoping that it will install this way unfortunately it cannot be installed this way you have to install the userscript online only.
How to rectify it: Go to www.userscripts.org to install this script online.
4. Error: 503 Service Unavailable
What does it mean: Server where the script is hosted is down or it is under maintenance or pretty busy to handle your request now.
How to Rectify it: Be patient and try again later to install this script

New Feature in Updates From Your Friends
Earlier we used to see in the "Updates from your friends" updates related to Albums, changes in profiles, videos but now if your friend add a friends it will also be shown in the updates, is not it cool feature to have. This would help in knowing what friends are doing and how much bigger their social network is becoming which is the purpose of Orkut.

View Locked Albums at orkut - New Hack

well if you are like me you must be wanting to view the locked albums that are currently blocked by the profile owners for the privacy of their photos. However we always like to view them just for once though. Earlier hacks have stopped working though, This new Hack to view locked albums or we can say to view locked photo albums

Send a Blank Scrap at Orkut
How would you like to send someone a blank scrap and see them getting annoyed at him. Well it would be quite fun to see when they would be thinking it is some problem with their computer system. You can make your friends fool for sometime, wonderful feeling yea. hahahaha......
Now the question is how to do it...
Here are the instructions for doing it
In the Text field where you type Scrap, HOLD (Keep pressed) ALT key and press 0 1 7 3 (Press the numbers one after the another. Do not keep them pressed) on the NUMBER PAD (on the right side of the keyboard).
If you are using a laptop, just Type [i] in the text box like this.
And Click Submit.
You will see a post like this...
Most of people who will see it will get annoyed by seeing a blank scrap.

Photo Albums on orkut - New Feature by Google
Google has added multi album in your orkut photos feature, which makes it very easy to organize albums in orkut. Now you can organize photos according to their names, for e.g if you have 20 photos of your vacation you can create a alubm with the title vacation add some discription and add your photos in that album.

We were looking for ways to group all of our photos on orkut based on the different experiences that they shared. Today, orkut will be launching Photo Albums! Have many photos from a recent trip? Create an album specifically for that trip. Lots of pics from a recent night out with friends? Create another album with just those photos!
All of your current photos will be stored by default in their own album. Feel free to setup new ones by going to "photos" from your homepage. Once you have created an album, simply click on it and start uploading new photos inside. You can also change the cover photo by clicking on "edit" of the photo that you want to appear, and then selecting "album cover."
This feature will certainly make many many orkut users more happy... certainly google is all set to make orkut the best.
